How to glue fabric back to the door panel?

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Jingyuan Zhang, Dec 2, 2003.

  1. Hello,

The fabric fell off the door panel. What glue can be used to attach
the fabric back to the door panel? The car is 92 Accord DX, 4 doors.

    Thanks a lot.

3M Super 77 is excellent for such an application.

(Jingyuan Zhang) spake unto the assembled masses in

Contact cement. Follow directions on the can precisely. Don't use any sort
    of spray contact cement.

Have you tried Super 77 for this sort of thing? It's always worked
    great for me.

Mine came off too, I used double sided sticky tape.

I use 3M 77 just about every day, but in a spray can as it's used for
    paste-up of graphics.

I suppose if it were available in a non-spray form, it would work fine for
automotive application. It does tend to delaminate over time when you use
it to stick paper to paper or cloth to paper.
