I am buying a 1999 Accord with the V6. The idle is oscilating between 1100 and
1900 rpms at an idle after it warms up. The check engine light is also on. Any
ideas? How hard to fix? Cost? It is at an auction, so if I want the car I have
    to fix it myself.
    Thanks

Possibly a bad oxygen senor? What code are you getting?

Haven't had the codes pulled yet. I guess that is the first thing I need to get
    done.
    Thanks

Yes, get the ECU codes or go on a test drive. The ECU raises the idle
speed to whatever keeps the engine running smoothly. The fast idle
throbbing could anything from a leaky injector to a cracked engine block.

It's a bad IAC (Idle Air Control valve). It's mounted under the throttle
    body. See this alot.

it'll be a p0505 iac fault. if it's low on coolant it'll do this. tap
the iac with a small hammer while it's running, most of the time it
will unstick and run for another year.
