So my 96 Accord with 110k has sprung a leak between the plastic top
tank and metal radiator. Does anybody have any good/bad experiences
to share with any online or widely known radiator supply places?

So far a local place called Performance Radiator is the leader with a
price of $136 shipped to my door. They only offer a 3 year warranty
though. Majestic Honda wants $217 plus S and H. Shucks Auto wants
$180 plus tax for a Transpro radiator and Napa wants $200 for their
    Modine with metal tanks

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

By the way my email listed is bogus so don't bother trying to reach me
    there.

    Thanks,

    Dave

Manual or Auto? LX, EX, DX? 2-Dr. or 4-Dr.?

http://www.honda-auto-parts-wholesale.com/ has prices at $160 and under for
various 1996 Accord models, from a quick check.

Shipping's free. I've never used them but have been waiting for an opportunity
    to give them a try.

It's getting hard to find rad shops that will recore rads these days, so
metal tanks aren't as important as they used to be.

Any aftermarket rad is OK, but for greatest longevity, make sure it's
    aluminum and not brass.

Currently I'm running a Visteon plastic-tanked aluminum rad in my '91. The
brass fins finally rotted off the metal-tanked Valeo that was previously
installed. Both aftermarkets were less than a third the cost of OEM and
seem to be lasting just as long.

I got a lifetime-warranted radiator for my 1992 Accord EX auto at Advance Auto
parts last summer for US$92. I checked their web site when they were having a
sale. I didn't want to wait to have the item to be shipped from their
Philadelphia warehouse to my home in Northern Virginia, so they said print out
the online price, bring it in and we will honor it. I am very pleased with
    their service and attitude.

However, I just sprung a leak in the lower radiator hose where it was rubbing
against some type of electrical connection on the side of the battery holder.
PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE LOWER HOSE AN INCH OR SO AWAY FROM THE
    BATTERY.

    Good Luck and Happy Holidays,

Thanks for the info. I went to their website however and noticed that
they are powered by the same company (parts america) as the local
Schucks, Checker or Kragen autoparts stores. When I looked up my
radiator it is the same one that Schuck's is selling at the same
$179.99 plus tax and shipping. But I appreciate the input anyway. I
had never heard of Advance Auto Parts before.

I don't know where you live, but I think they also trade under Discount Auto
    Parts in FL.

I found the receipt. It was actually US $92.55 for a GO/DAN 432207 with
lifetime warranty on August 22, 2003.
