What's the opinion on these? Is it just hype or do they really clean the
injectors as claimed? Thanks in advance.

Apparently they do. Most are just mineral spirits (Stoddards solvent,
naptha) One brand that does have something more than just mineral
    spirits is this stuff:

Which seems to be well regarded by several members of this newsgroup.

If Gasohol is available in your country, you can try a tank or two of
that also. It certainly will clean any water out of your tank, and seems
to help the injectors stay cleaner. It solved an injector that was
sticking open, and flooding the engine overnight for us.

sure, you can use some injector cleaner. it doesnt cost much. most of the
name brand stuff works as advertised, or at least i have not heard any
    stories.
but, if your injectors arent dirty, then save yourself some money.
and if your injectors are clogging, switch to a different brand of gas or
    even a different dealer.
my advice, often stated in this NG, is that if you are buying gasoline from
a busy and reputable dealer and your car is in tune, you do not need any
supplemental injector cleaner. you are buying it in every gallon you put in
your tank. regardless of grade. thats what they are selling you really,
the "additive package". all brands must meet the fed and state regulation
for gasoline. its the package that they try and sell as being different,
and therefore superior. (you know, the marketing is to induce you to switch
brands for "restored power" blah blah blah)

if you buy unknown gas from the ma+pa on the corner, then you might be
getting some stale gunk. in which case the solution is to buy a quality
brand. just about any brand. it is a honda after all.

i will add this... how often do injectors go bad? now someone will be able
to reply about the daily repair they make at their shop for a bad
    injector...

  5. I've got about 120k on my 96 Accord and have never used injector cleaner. I
am still getting the same mileage I was 5 years ago and I have no
    driveability problems.
