Installing keyless entry myself

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by Dwayne Hoover, Feb 12, 2004.

  1. Does anyone know of a website or book that can instruct me step by
step on how to purchase and install keyless entry in my 2000 Civic LX?
I've read that all I need to do is buy the transmitters and program
them but I'm not very technical and wouldn't know where to start. Has
    anyone here done this?

It is completely trivial. Your mom could do it. Check
    http://www.handaccessories.com/crv/KEYLESSPROG.pdf for instructions.

The unit is already installed. You only need to buy the remotes and program
    them.

  4. Ok, I left out one important thing. I have an after market radio
installed. I've read up on the net about installing a new transmitter
    and I found this site:

    http://www.partsexpress.com/pdf/catalog04/300pec03.pdf?

look at the bottom right hand corner at "receiver module". I need the
directions on how to install that.

I think the receiver unit is built into the factory radio. It's going to
be a little more extensive work, since you no longert have it.

I have installed a couple of those. I have some notes from when I
installed one in an Accord. I'll send you the notes by e-mail. Is the
sender's address in you post valid?

    Dwayne,

I just e-mailed you something, but it bounced back as you are over your
quota at Yahoo. Do you have an alternate e-mail address I should use?
