Loose steering wheel rubber - 90 Accord

Discussion in 'Accord' started by Pete from Boston, Aug 10, 2004.

  1. The rubber "body" of my 90 Accord LX steering wheel has begun to detach
from its frame/skeleton inside, such that on the top one can twist and
turn the rubber over the frame. Has anyone dealt with this, and how?
It's not a big deal since I hold the wheel at 9 and 3, generally, but in
an unexpectedly tight fast turn the other day it was making me
    uncomfortable.

Same thing happened to my 93 Accord. I bought a steering wheel wrapper ( or
whatever you call them, or maybe you can try one of those covers) from
Pepboys wrap it up and it doesn't bother me much any more.

try putting some super glue into a syringe, insert the hypodermic into the
    outer plastic
until it touches the frame. then sqeeze in the glue. easy.
    let's know if it works.

  4. This thought crossed my mind. Haven't tried it, though. I'll post
results if I decide to go that way.
