Maintenance light blinks even after oil change.

I have a Civic LX, and the maintenance light blinked upon ignition, so I got
my oil changed yesterday, but the maintenance light still blinks upon
ignition. Can I reset the lights myself, or do I need to return to the oil
    change place?

If you hold the trip odometer reset button, then turn the ignition key to
the run position, keep the reset button depressed for about ten seconds
after turning the key. The maintenance reminder light should shut itself
    off.

Did you read the user's manual when you got the car? or you are just one of
those idiots who thinks don't have to, and then here you are asking stupid
    questions?

I really doubt you can call me or anyone else "stupid". Only a truely
ignorant person would feel right to call another "stupid" without all the
necessary info. Trust me when I say this, I'm far more accomplished than
you, in terms of both career and academic achievement.

Without commenting on the appropriateness of the response or not, how do you
know? I don't know what he does for a living or what level of education he
    achieved.

    so
If the highlight of your day is calling someone "stupid" in a newsgroup with
as limited info as this gives, you can't be all that intelligent or
    educated.
Someone who's cultured and refined wouldn't find it appropriate to insult
    someone for an innocent question.
Your actions well describe your position. I can't believe you're even
trying to recover dignity and pride after make such a fool of yourself with
    an immature comment.

    Deductive reasoning.
Would someone who's intelligent and educated waste time posting insulting
comments that have no productive value?

I'm not sure. But they might also know to read the owners manual that came
with the vehicle. Goes both ways you know...

"I'm not sure." is your response?
You imply that his display of ignorance and immaturity is whashed away by
    reading the owner's manual.
Hmmm,... Logic is not your forte, is it?

And what washes away your display of ignorance? Calling other people
ignorant? You're doing wonders for your own argument. Your spelling isn't
    helping much either...

Logic doesn't seem to apply here...

And I was only implying that he is smart enough to read the manual that came
with the car which implies you are not...

The term "stupid" may actually apply to you. I may have mistyped and added
an extra "h" in wash, but that certainly doesn't imply in any way that I
can't spell the word wash. You're very immature. I'm shocked at the level
at which you wish to discuss this issue. Have fun with yourself, but I
think I'm done here. My car's maintenance light's gone, so I'm done here.

AC, your claim re education and career are being edged out by your
additional responses. An intelligent and well-educated person would not
make the simple misspellings you have made - or at least would not
submit these kinds of ripostes without using a spellchecker.

FWIW, I myself have been known to expound with verbal diatribes at
people for no better reason than frustration (the likely cause of Bob's
original response) - and I am in fact highly educated, both in the
walkways of life and the halls of 'higher' education. Your deduction is
based on a lack of information, which never justifies a conclusion.

A more reasoned response to your question might have been appropriate,
but so would the simple phrase "Read The Fucking Manual".

    RFT!!!
