More Accord Cooling

  1. My 92 Accord radiator cooling fan only runs when the AC is turned on. This
just started after a thermostat replacement. Fan used to come on
occasionally when sitting still. Now the only time it comes on is when the
AC is turned on. Then it will come on along with the AC condenser fan.
Once the vehicle is shut off, the radiator fan (and only the radiator fan)
will come on and stay on for 15 - 20 minutes. Any ideas?

    This
It is most likely related to your engine coolant temperature switch.

Perhaps you pulled a wire loose as your replaced the thermostat. It could
have just failed and it is just a coincidence that it happened as you
    replace the thermostat.
If you short across the switch and the fan comes on, your sensor is most
likely bad. If it does not, the wire from the sensor to the relay is
probably open. The relay is good, because it turns on when you turn on the
    AC.

Tegger.com has an faq on this.

With "sensor" I mean the coolant temperature switch. Just making sure I
    don't confuse you.
