My civic won't start. I can hear the fuel pump. The engine turns over
but it is not firing. It worked find before I replaced the alternator.
It even worked without the alternator as long as the battery was
    charged. Where should I start?

Not sure right now how a possibly improperly installed
alternator would work into this, but finding out things like
whether there's even spark should help. Start here:

so it wont start right after you changed the alt ?
i would say with out looking at the car
check all the fuses .. must have burnt the ign fuse or something
    are you getting spark ??
