New Civic!

Discussion in 'Civic' started by Cpt. Lance Tanner, Galactic Border Patrol, Earth D, Aug 13, 2003.

  1. Just got a new civic 2 door. Buddy just came over to add some things to it.
We put on a skull shifter, glowing gauges, and lots of lights!! Real spoiler
now going on as we speak. Still have to find some nice 17" rims and some
ground effects. The car is white...which sucks, but it was all they had. We
are thinking of spray painting some grafix on the car to spruce it up. When
I go to the hardware store, what type of paint should I get? Maybe lots of
spray touch up? I totally screwed up my last car (99 Integra ) by trying to
paint it myself, so I want to avoid the head ache this time. Parents aren't
too pleased about the last screw up...cost them $5000 to repaint the Acura
    for me.

Your parents should had bought you a toy (<7y/o) instead of a car.

  3. Why? I needed a car for school (college), they bought me one. Lots of kids
    get cars from their parents.

So are you going to answer the question, or are you just being a butt munch?

Great! When you're done, you can send pictures to this site
http://www.riceboypage.com/. By the way, it sounds like your parents have too
much money. It would be great if they could send some to me, thanks!

A Skull Shifter!?!?!? Who Are you? Ed "Big Daddy" Roth?
Dude! Save your money and don't buy the crap. Save up an get some nice rims
and tires and other stuff to hop up the engine. and painting the air vents
yellow does not increase the HP. You could at least sink the money into a
nice sound system and speakers. But don't go to wal-mart and buy the Jensen
Sub just because it has a neon light around it. and if you are intent on
putting some sort of graphic on it, DO NOT spray paint it. Just have
somebody cut out a graphic in vinyl so you can take it off whe you realize
how crappy it looks in a year. I have a black Civic and I have always
thought it might me cool to put a thick red stripe down the side with an
upturn at the very end that would go into the spoiler that would also be
    red. Then I would have an A-Team Civic..WOOHOO....but I don't do that,
because i realize i am not B.A. Baracus.
    Good Day

There's nothing wrong with your Civic so don't let that comment bother
    you.

As for your paint job, your first stop should not be at a typical
HARDWARE store, but an AUTOMOTIVE PAINT store...they'll have what you
need -- may even rent you equipment -- tell you what the best paint
for your application is, how much to thin it out for the sprayer, and
so on...stuff you need to know to do a good-looking (vs. crappy) job.

    Go there first.

The hardest part my be finding a dust/bug-free environemnt to do it
    in.

    Good luck,

    John D.

  12. Thanks for the advice all! I ended up getting some decals made at a stencil
    shop. I little safer :)

How ironic...my friend has a 1983 Chevy van pained up to look like the
A-teams! We wrecked it though when another friend tried to park a Suzuki
swift in the back of it while both were driving (only 10-15 Kph), kinda
like what Knight Rider did. No biggie for him though, he has the $$$ to buy
    a new one.

I just added a new Apline system to my Civic, and am looking at some serious
engine mods. Now I just need to soup up my winter vehicle! (2000 MDX, shitty
    brown colour).

Why would someone buy a car they don't like? If it's all they have,
then go to a dealer that has what you want. Cars aren't cheap, and
since you're paying so much, you better get EXACTLY what you want.

The only reason I can see someone buying a car in a color they don't
like is if it's the LAST one and the dealer is offering it at a super
low price, or if you're buying a used car with a super low price.
