I replaced plug at about 25K mile. The car noticeable smoother with
new plug, but gradually get rougher. I used NGK plug as specifed by
    Honda.

I am willing to buy platinum plug to put in if it make the car running
smooth longer. What brand should I use?

The car has 55Kmiles and I have never check the timing. I have not
even checked if this engine has mechanical timing advance. Do I need
to? Mileage has been very lousy, 21-22mpg at best. My 4Runner V8 gives
    me 19 mph.

    Thanks for your comment folk.

you should have done all the belts, plugs and hoses by now.
the rubber is probably petty brittle by now.

i used NGK plugs in my 97 and ran it smooth til i sold it
    with 125k.

dont forget brakes too. honda's rotors and calipers are
    trouble, especially if underused.

What kind of NGK did you use? No way a regular $1.50 NGA would last
125K. Toyota car now uses Iridium sparkplug, and those are not cheap
    stuff to replace.

Honda will give me a free tuneup at 75K miles with new rotor, plug,
wirings as part of the EPA violation lawsuit settlement. Cool.

    Iridium plug about <$7.
    Double Platinum <$12
    Regular Platinum <$3.
    Regular Plug <$2.50

The Iridium plug is a good deal.
