Nokian WR G2 tires - a 3 month review

  1. Thanks to those (Elmo, etc.) who, um, steered me to these all-season tires
that are purported to be particularly good, for an all-season, in at least
snow and slush. Funny that, with all the snow we've had in the Northeast, I
really haven't given myself a chance to try them out on snow-covered roads.
The reason is that, when it's snowed, I stayed home!

But what is so worth the changeout from what I had before is their grip. I
noticed it immediately while cornering, especially on interstate on- and
off-ramps. Before, I thought it was just my age dictating I should drive
more cautiously, as I never felt secure driving these ramps at higher
speeds -- until now. The car is a 2004 Accord sedan I4. Previously I had
Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds, and I never felt assured. Now I do.

Cool - how about tread wear?

Tony, I don't yet know. All I know is they're supposed to give (I think)
50,000 miles. If some of those miles are expected to be snow-friendly, I
don't know. So far I'm driving 99.9% on dry pavement. I didn't take a penny
measurement when they were new; maybe I should have.
