I noticed this past winter that the
heater control has no effect on the
temperature being blown in the rear.
Is this normal or a defect?

I was becoming uncomfortably hot in the
passenger seat because the rear fan
was cooking my seat. I kept turning down
the temperature setting (I have the higher
end climate control) but that resulted in
cold air from the front and still hot air
from the rear. By the time I realized this and
turned off the rear fan it took at least half an
hour for my chair to cool off.

The front and rear have separate controls. Setting the front to RR allow
the rear control to work, or something like that.

Thanks Elmo and Sean. Sean is correct about the RR
setting but that appears to be fan speed only. The
driver can control the rear or relinquish control to
    the rear passengers.

It is too bad you cannot control the rear temperature too.
In my case I somehow didn't notice my rear fan
speed was cranked up and kept turning down the
temperature to no avail. I ended up with a frozen
front and baked rear (kind of the opposite of sitting
in front of a campfire on a cold day). You would
think that the people in the rear may want more control
    for more comfort.
