I had the radio controls on the steering wheel repaired and when I got
the car back one of the bulbs in the dash was burnt out. I blamed the
dealer, I don't believe in coincidence, but they refused to take
responsibility and charged me 100 bucks for the repair. What is the
life expectancy of the bulbs in the dash? Are the bulbs diodes?
Diodes have a life expectancy 10,000 hours or more. The car is a 02
with 70k miles. Is it unreasonable to think that during the radio
repair the tech could have pulled the lead or even the bulb out of its
socket? I would like to have the facts, so I can make my case with
Honda Auto Care against my Dealer.

Consider half of the driving was with the lights on (way over reality),
with an average speed of 30mph (fair). 35,000/30 = 1166 hours on the
dash lights. Nothing for a diode.

    Thanks

    John

The back light for the AC read out. Which is above the radio.
