Looks like a "Mommy wagon" is in my future.. Are there any known
problems with the Odyssey MPVs? Based on prices and budget, it will
probably be a 2.2L, 1995-97 vintage and maybe the 4WD version. I think
the 4WD is based on the CRV running gear.
Did the model after (with the 2.3l Vtec or V6) have any advantages.
They certainly go for more $$.

The only weakness we found in the '96 was the ABS. It failed at around
50,000 miles with a $1000 price tag to repair. Fortunately, you can safely
ignore it and brake the old fashioned way (pump them in a skid). Otherwise
    it has been bullet-proof.

My daughter is still carting kids around in it, currently at 130,000 miles.
It doesn't ride any differently now than it did the day we took it off the
    new car lot.

The newer V6 models had some initial problems with the automatic sliding
doors and later on with transmissions.

The downside of all the electronics and toys. If the ABS faults we
fail the 6 monthly safety inspections (New Zealand).
I see there is a recall/ repair for the recent V6 models.
On the whole they seem to be well liked, with the general comment
that the 2.2l could do with some more go. Mind you, this was mainly
from Americans, where gas is cheap and V8s cheaper :)
