Today, the hood cable broke when I attempted to open the hood. How will I
open the hood??! The inside handle is flapping in the wind.

The car is a Honda Accord EX 1992.

  3. If the cable snapped at the cabin end, use a pair of pliers to pull on the
    dangling end.

Thanks Alex. However, the cable has come apart at the hood release at the
front of the car. Any other ideas?

If the plastic clip that holds the cable on the hood release is broken
(cable is still on), you cannot open the hood from inside the car but
you can fit your hand through/under the grill and yank on the cable
itself. It will pop your hood, did it on my civic after someone tried
    to steal it.

    Bye,

Thanks Leon, my arm is not long enough to reach. Unless I can find somebody
with a long arm. I think a screw driver might work through the grill. Maybe
I can trip the jaws, for lack of correct terminology. Thanks much.

  8. If the screws are accessbile, remove the grill and get your hand under the
latch to un do it. You can also try getting under the front of the car
and reaching up from there, but that might not be possible.
