After driving for about half an hour the other night, an orange light lit
up on my dashboard (looks like a pic or an alternator or possibly starter
motor). It turns off when the ignition is turned off, and only comes on
after half an hour or so. Any idea's what it is and what can be done to
    repair it?? cheers

  2. If you have the manual, it should tell you what that light means.
Otherwise, it would be nice to know what year and model of car you are
    talking about.

The only light on your dashboard that is orange is the "Check Engine"
light. Does the little alternator or starter graphic have any text inside
it? Does that text say "CHECK"?

If so, there is a problem with your emissions system. High Tech Misfit has
already told you what we need to help you further.

thanks for getting back to me. My car is a 1995 Honda Civic, 1.5lsi, 3dr
Hatchback. I had chance to have a thorough look through my engine
yesterday and I think I may have found the problem. My gearbox was
changed about a week ago, and when the garage disconnected everything, i
found that a single black wire at the front of my engine (coming from
somewhere around the manifold that plugs into a slot just above the clutch
bleed nipple) was not in very securley lets say. After my journey to work
this morning, the was no light on my dash so hopefully it has been cured.
Thanks for the responses though. Cheers
