ORVR VALVE

Discussion in 'General Motoring' started by packerman1975, Mar 13, 2006.

  1. HAVE A 2002 HONDA ACCORD EX. AFTER A LOT OF ANALYSIS, THE DEALERSHIP FEEL
A FAULTY ORVR VALVE IS CAUSING SPORADIC CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODES. ALL
OTHER SENSOR AND CANISTERS IN THE EVAP SYSTEM APPEAR TO BE WORKING
NORMALLY. THE DEALERSHIP SPENT TWO HOURS DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM, AND IS
CHARGING ME ANOTHER 5 LABOR HOURS PLUS $115 FOR THE PART. IS THIS OUT OF
    LINE?

    THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

  3. Yes, I guess they need to drop the back chassis and remove the gas tank. I
am a little suspect becuase i read that overfilling the gas tank can cause
corrosion in the valve, a problem the dealership never mentioned. I used
to always top off my fuel and round up to the nearest dollar, which
apparently is a very bad thing.
