I have 2005 Civic Si and leave the parking brake on when ever it's parked. A
friend of mine keeps telling me it's bad for the brakes. Is this true?

    Thanks

Yes, and pushing on that pedal to the right is bad for the engine.

    Don't listen to your friend.

Honda installs a "parking brake" for the very purpose of putting it on when
you're parked. It's SUPPOSED to be used.

NOT using the parking brake is a poor idea.

of course not. it's a safety feature and it's there to be used.
