can you tell me where the location of the PCV Valve is on a

Your 1988 Civic 1500's PCV valve appears to be identical to my 1991 Civic's (1.5
liter also), which appears to be identical to the 1990 Concerto 1.5 liter
engine. The drawing on the left of
    http://www.honda.co.uk/owner/ConcertoManual/62sk301/6-173.pdf shows where your
PCV valve should be. Once you are between the valve cover (= top of the engine)
and the air intake chamber (which has the large letters "PGM-FI" on it), look
for a 3/4 inch outside diameter black hose with a 180-degree turn at the top,
like the one shown at this site labeled "PCV hose."

http://tinyurl.com/2jx2c shows more detail. The PCV valve is item 8.

If your intent is to replace the valve, it helps to have the new PCV valve in
your hand when you go hunting for the old one.

A 14 mm long socket wrench is preferred. Chilton's manual says the installation
    torque is 13 ft-lbs.

Aside: My car's fuel mileage since unclogging and cleaning the PCV valve and
hose April 29-30 rose notably from below 40 mpg to 42 mpg and 43 mpg for the
last two tanks of gas. This was a mix of mostly suburban driving (lots of steady
35 mph), some highway driving, and a bit of city driving.

The PCV valve is staying much cleaner/clearer since I cleaned the hose for the
first time ever on April 30.

A little liquid dish detergent spread on joints where rubber meets metal (e.g.
hoses , valve inlets, and clamps) facilitates assembly and dis-assembly. Don't
get any actually inside the valve, though.
I don't know. Did you see this in this thread?
