PO401 EGR flow fault

  1. What's the best way and or cheapest way to fix my 1997 Honda Accord EX v6
PO401 EGR flow fault? Can the EGR valve be cleaned instead of replaced or
could a vacuum leak cause the fault?

My '98 Odyssey (VTEC 4) is showing the same code.

Good idea, but no help if your Honda was made after 1995.

Most VTEC Hondas have trouble with blockage in the EGR supply pipe. This is
usually caused by corrosion, and often times the pipe itself has to be
replaced. It has nothing to do with the EGR valve...their failure rate is
    almost non-existent.

Is cleaning or replacing the EGR supply pipe a DIY-able task?
