Average shadetree with a couple questions before I replace a oxygen
sensor in my 00 Civic to solve P0135 (and thus check engine light)
Q1 - anything on threads of new sensor ?
Q2 - does the CEL need to be turned off with a scanner or will driving
the car with the new part do it ? (any sugg or comments on this seemly
    easy job are welcomed)

I think I read somewhere that the new O2 sensor comes coated with some
sort of sealan, and you should not put anything on it. but you should
find specific information for your car and the specific o2 sensor, and
not rely on myu poor memory. Also, use OEM if you can.

the honda OEM sensor comes with some grey anti-sieze preapplied.
best to do it with a scanner. scanners are under $100. the dealer will
want at leas tthat much in labor alone to replace the sensor, which took
me all of 10 minutes, working slowly.
