Hello folks, seems like some smart cookies in here so I thought I'd post a
    few problems I have.

    1) Noise coming from belts on engine, sounds like one of the flywheels, not
really a belt squealing noise. Seems to be from lower under the car.
Waterpump maybe? I have 110K on it (2001) and I'm told that the timing belt
might as well be done at same time if its waterpump. I have extended warr,
but not sure if that would cover water pump. If it does, should I do the
timing belt now? Is it really in the same area as water pump.

    2) As it has been getting colder, I'm noticing a bit of hesitation when the
car is cold at CERTAIN spots on the gas pedal. Only for the first 5-10 mins.
ok at top of pedal, in middle small hesitation and then ok as pedal is down
further. Could this be a fuel injection problem as it seems to be related to
where the gas pedal is (when car cold)

Booking in to dealer, but I kinda wanna have a feeling if I'm in anyway
    accurate in my suspicions.

    thanks in advance

Ya, that sounds like a water pump, and yes, the timing belt is usually
right behind the water pump. Not sure about the dead spots, could be
the fuel injection, could be a temperature relay, could be water in the
line from drawing condensation and freezing, best guess would be a temp
relay, since you say it is only during the first 5-10 min.

if you have 110k, you are due for a timing belt change in another 10k
anyway. getting to the water pump is about 90% of the labor involved in
takign out a timing belt so for probably 1/2 hour in labor costs y ou can
have the timing belt changed too. the water pump would be covered by the
warranty but not the timing belt change. i cant see them charging you more
than $75 extra for the belt change.

Thanks Lamont1, I was just looking on the honda.com site and they say the
    timing belt is at 168,000
Same for my dads 2002 Civic.
    Am i reading something wrong?

I NEVER HEARD OF CHANGING A TIMING BELT AT 168000 MILES. MAYBE THEY MEAN
168000 KM. ALSO THAT ODD NUMBER IS STRANGE. I HAVE ACTUALLY HEARD OF CARS
THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE THEIR BELTS CHANGED AT 70K MILES AND 90KMILES BUT
NEVER 168K. MAYBE YOU WERE READING THE WRONG T HING.

When my '01 civic turned 100,000 km, I asked the service department and they
quoted the same figure of 168,000 km. It makes sense if you figure you
service the vehicle every 8,000 km.

Pop in the 2001 prelude and it shows at bottom.
    100,000km if in -29C weather
    I'm canadian, i meant 168,000km ;)

I believe the hesitating problem is because of lack of fuel, i have had the
same problems many times, blocked fuel filter/injectors, faulty fuel pump,
often the engine has a lower tone sound while this happens too, also check
    the oil.
