Price for brand new 2003 Accord LX-G Manual

  1. Hi,

I just closed a cash deal with Toronto Honda for a brand new black
LX-G Accord with manual transmission for $20.5 before freight, pdi and
taxes. MSRP was $25K and they told me there was a $2k cash discount.
    Was it a good deal?

You got a deal but not a great one. You have to take into account the fact
that although it's still a new car, it's "technically" a year old as far as
resale value is concerned. That's what the $2K discount was for. Of
course, this only matter if you plan to trade it in after a few years. If
you end up owning this car for over 6 years or something like that, the the
depreciation won't matter because 1 year on a car that old won't make a
difference. If that's your case, then yes you got a good deal.

I too have a 2003 LX-G 5-speed. Awesome car. I paid MSRP for mine but that
was because they gave me an awesome buyout on terminating my lease a year
early on a 2000 Civic SE. The car was 26,000 KM over the mileage limit and
I broke the lease for $250. Not bad but they used all the "negotiating"
money from the Accord to do that so I paid MSRP. I was pleased with the
deal though since they're total offer beat the next closest Honda dealer by
    $1300.

Anyway, I'm rambling, enjoy your new car. That 5-speed 4-banger has a
surprising amount of power. I would have to liked to have seen a version of
the LX-G with a moonroof since I didn't want to spring the extra $4500 for
the EX-L when the moonroof is all I wanted so I decided to do without.
Other than that, it's a sweet ride.

  3. Thank you for the feedback Sean. I finally got my car 2 days ago and
it's awesome. Much better than the Camry that I was considering.
