6K miles on the accord. The temperature gauge
stays just two marks befor ethe 1/2 mark.

Also the fans are almost always working if in stop
an go or slow speed traffic.

This is my first Honda, so I do not know if it is normal
or not. My tranAm ('98) and old camry ('93) all had
temp gauge most of the time on 1/4 mark. All in south
    florida (hot in May)

Should I ask anything from the dealer?

    Is the Air Conditioning on?
What kind of ambient temps are you talking about?

anything up to half way is normal. just changed the coolant in mine, and it
    dropped a couple needle-widths.

  5. Honda used to have the needle on the 1/2 mark for normal engine operating
temp - more recent models seem to be like yours... more like slightly
higher than 1/3 on the scale.
That's how the electric control of the fan works.
    Sounds all normal to me.

    Thanks for the replies.

Yes, A/C is on, and it is pretty hot down here now (
    high 80s and humid)

I was a bit concerned, because my '03 was serviced
for recall (a clamp on some hose needed be changed),
when the dealer changed it, they forgot to screw in
the radiator cap. So after I got home, I felt the smell
opened the hood and saw the coolant all over the engine.

I went back to the dealer, they cleaned it up, and he
said there is no problem (as I drove like that for just
about 20 minutes) and they, I hope, refilled (at least
the coolant reservour is at 'full' mark'

So that's why I was worried. I am just not used to seeing
the needle just a couple of notches below 1/2 and
fans working when the car stops....

Sounds like normal operation to me.
