  1. Will Honda Plus honour a Honda Care?

    Have you actually done this?

Not only is Texas "almost" the largest state but we up here in Alaska are
considering subdividing our state and make Texas the "third" largest in the
    US.

    Q. Is my Honda Plus extended warranty policy transferable to the United
States if I move there with my car?

    A. No. Check your Honda or Acura Plus contract for details on how to
obtain a pro-rated refund if you are moving outside Canada with your
    vehicle.

If it's not transferable one way, I would suspect it's not transferable the
    other way either.

So, be careful with buying a car from Wisconsin, Wyoming, Massechussets,
    NY, Washington, Minnesota etc. :)

Not only because of salt/sand treatment. Rubber things in chassis have a
hard life too. Permanent running cold engine every morning with oil like
gel is not good for it also.

not sure if Honda Plus honors Honda Care ( the orig. question was re:
a Seattle guy wanting to buy a car from Canada then take it back to Seattle)
but Honda dealers in WA will definitely honors Honda Plus.

The dealer (not you) has an extra phone call to make but they will do it .

Hmm... I already filed 2 claims on Honda Plus while living in NJ via a
    honda dealer in NJ.
One think i could think of is that the standard rate for a honda mechanic in
US is around 60-75 per hour.
If a US dealer is providing any type of service for Honda Plus, they will
    want that same rate which
translate to 84-105 Cdn$$. That IS a VERY steep rate for Honda Plus Canada
    to pay out.

The one thing that really sucks about driving a Canadian car
in the US is to take it to your local Honda Dealer.

I took my beloved honda to the dealer for the usual 60 Km service
which should only cost about $ 200 max.

The dealer was confused (didn't read the odometer correctly)
and gave me the 90,000 MILES service which include the works
(timing belt, hoses, flushing fluids, .......)

Total cost? almost $ 1100.00. So just be a little extra careful
when you take it to the dealership for service

  16. Well I'm from canada and I can tell you one big advantage about buying a car
in canada (at least certain places in canada for example Newfoundland) cars
are a damn lot cheaper. However a con would be that in parts of canada where
salt is used on the roads in the winter, and if near salty water, the cars
    are sometimes rusty.

Try Calif.....where the hourly rate is $80-85 per hour in US $
BTW...where is your Honda registered? If one were able to buy a car in
Canada, customs duty also must be paid, in addition to applicable sales
    taxes.
