The antenna (in the rear window) of my 2001 Accord has a heat related
problem. When the temp goes above appx. 60f and the car sits out in
the sun for a while, the radio will only pickup very close local
stations (i.e. strong signal). As the inside of the car cools down
either by driving with the windows down or the A/C on, reception will
    gradually improve.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

could be a loose connector - try that first. otherwise, either replace
the glass or try and find the break in the copper print and repair it
with conductive paint. could be tricky if the crack is so small as to
be bridged with temperature variation. look for dry joints in other
connectors nearer the radio as well.

  3. If all else fails, you could add an aftermarket antenna-- though that would
probably involve drilling a hole through the sheet metal to mount it.
