    Hello,
I'm seriously considering having a remote starter installed on my new Accord
EX. Is there anything I should consider before doing such a move? The manual
states that "nothing should be added to the security system." Thanks in
    advance.

The remote starter has nothing to do with the security system, it
is completely separate. I would suggest you have a Honda
authorized remote starter installed at a Honda dealership.. It
will be warranted just like the rest of the car. Lot of folks
think of the remote starter as a way to have a warmed up car in
winter, actually I have found over the years it is more useful in
cooling a hot car in summer. When one goes out on a cold day you
are dressed warm. A car that is over 100 degrees in summer, is
hot even if you are nude. ;)

I'm thinking of doing the same. Can anyone recommend good or bad systems?

  4. Up here in Fargo, most people prefer the Canadian-made Astrostart system.
Be sure to get the model with the two way remote, that alerts you when the
car has actually started. This saves much hassle checking to make sure the
signal was received. Also, be sure you have the system installed by a
technician who has experience doing so. These starters interact with many
different electrical systems in the car and a poor installation can cause
many headaches later on. Also insist that they solder in the connections
rather than using twist couplers which can disconnect after time.
