Remove Salt Stains

    Any idea how to remove salt stains from the floorcarpeting of a vehicle?
    I had someone suggest Vinegar?

    Vinegar is not a good idea. You can damage the color of the carpet with
    that.

    Scrape off the loose, crusty salt with a popsicle stick or something and
    vacuum up.

    Wet a rag to near-dripping with plain water. Place on top of salt stain,
    press in lightly and leave until the salt has dissolved (an hour or so).

    Once the salt has dissolved, use a fresh rag with more water to press it in
    and dilute the salt. You can rub a bit. Now get a DRY rag, and press/wiggle
    it into the wet carpet to soak up the water. Keep pressing with the dry
    parts of the dry rag and most of the salt will be removed.

    At this point, if you want an extra nice job done, you can use a wet-dry
    ShopVac while that part of the carpet is still wet.

    No damage to carpet, I've seen white vinegar solution used on persian rugs.
    Just have
    1 tablespoon of white vinegar to 1 cup of water and you'll be fine.
