I'm selling four OEM SE rims with Bridgestone Potenza tires- 195/60 R15's-
with 5K on them. My teenage son got itchy to impress the girls so I let him
buy some nice 18" rims and tires with his money, of course. I like his choice,
    btw.

I haven't called my Honda dealer yet to find out how much the rims cost, but
I'm interested in what you might think is a fair price. I was thinking of an
initial reserve on Ebay of $85 each. Sound resonable? Thanks for any
    advice.

Setting a reserve on eBay discourages bidders...

but it also insures you arent giving the wheels away. i set the
reserve/minimum to the absolute LOWEST id EVER consider taking for the item.

ie: itd be easier for me to toss it in a dumpster than to get less than
    the reserve.

sold a lot of things myself, stuff i woulda tossed like old cell phones.
asked a penny plus $5 shipping/handling and sold everything. not bad for
something that was worthless to me and about to end up in a dumpster.

that $5 barely covered the cost of the bubble mailer, postage, and box
tape, not to mention the listing and final value fees, and time spent to
set up a paypal acct, transfer funds, take pics and write the auction
ads. luckily i consider my time cheap.

heavy items that need shipping should have that factored into the total
cost of the item as well. no ones going to want to pay $85 each and THEN
have to pay another $30 each for shipping if they can buy em local for
under $100 each off someone local with a new car they decided to "upgrade".

could always toss em on your local craigslist for a reasonable offer.

FWIW, i once paid $100 for 4 VW steel wheels with decent continental
tires to upgrade the rabbit convertible i had from 13" to 14".
