the s light stayed on would not leave 2nd gear replaced the tcu with a
used one at ammco and they wraped it in plastic it ran fine then 2
weeks later the s light came back on then i accidentally ran the
battery down and when i recharged the battery the s light went out and
now it runs ok i guess the computer reset itself.

any idea what happened or if the light will suddenly reappear and stay
    in 2nd gear?

    thanks, Damian

    Hmmmm.

You've taken it to the 'experts', but now _we_ have to guess whether
it's fixed? What code was it generating, and what's the mileage, and how
many times did you replace the Honda tranny fluid (and with what)?

Find the two terminals connector on the side of passenger kick panel.
This is a blue two-wire connector. Short the two terminals with a paper
clip and turn on the ignition (do not start) Read the flashes of the
check engine and/or d4 lights...post the results here and somebody
will look it up in the shop manual.

Funny part is that after the trouble of getting the code, the code
    will say: "stuck on 2nd."

Probably the ground or power input to the TCU made a quick
dropout. For example, a bad ignition switch or main relay.

thanks for the replys but i think you people are the experts ammco
didnt seem to be able to
figure it out now im just waiting for the trbl to return then ill
    post again

fyi the car was given to me with the problem dont know it the tranny
fluid was changed and it has 108k miles on it it kind of seems that
when the trbl returns that resetting the computer fixes it for a while.
im gonna see if my theory is right soon ....i think

    thanks again all!!

well this is an update on my 91 accord/
i went searching on the net and saw some posts from trannyman and some
    others
the info was very useful, the used tcu from ammco was defective or
they never replaced it the way i knew it was defective was that i
couldnt retrieve any codes and it smelled burned, when i took it apart
i found 2 burned caps and 1 burned resistor, i went to radio shack and
matched up the caps and resistor best i could, did a lousy soldering
job and reinstalled the tcu and everything seems to be fine now.
thanks all and hope this post helps anyone who might have the same
    symptoms.
