My S light is acting up again staying on. Dealer says the trans is
going bad but I'm still wondering. I did notice today before it
stayed continuously on, 2 short dashes and a long dash (I think).
Anyone know what this might mean from the diagnostics?

Ofcourse when I described briefly that the car is slipping and the
speedometer works fine but the S light stays on, a transmission guy
over the phone said the trans was bad. Still wondering if these two
    independents opinions are right???

Can the S light give an indication that the trans itself is going bad
or just the selinoids or other electronics??

NOt a bad transmission. Already been through this with a 91 accord I've had
    in the past.

Have the wiring harness checked for continuity between the TCM and the
transmission. You are sure to find a short in the wiring. Fix that and the
problem will go away. Don't make the mistake I did of buying a new
    transmission.

I had same problem on 1990 Accord. Solved it by putting in a new
    speed sensor.
