My new "other brand" SUV came with Satellite radio. I hadn't planned on
renewing once the 'free trial' runs out, but the wife loves it. Problem her
car is a 2004 Accord so she isn't driving my car all that often. I was
thinking of getting her an add-on unit for her car. It has the 6 disc CD
player but no auxiliary input. I know she wouldn't want the factory radio
pulled to put an in-dash unit in. What have others done to add Satellite
    radio to their Accords?

    Thanks!

  2. Does your Accord radio have a SAT button?

If so, any car audio place can add the tuner to the existing factory
    unit.

Most of the Satellite Radio tuners from Sirius have an FM transmitter
built in. It works well, and if you need it, it also comes with an
antenna that can be placed on the inside of your windshield to get the
transmit signal closer to your car's antenna. Mine works fine in my
    truck without it, though.

Overall, they are pretty easy to install (with detailed instructions
included), and IMO, it is well worth it. The quality is excellent,
and the programming is way better than on terrestrial radio around
these parts. No commercials on the music stations, and no censorship
    on the talk shows.

No, Elmo, it doesn't have a SAT setting
Thanks Joe, I saw those radios on their web site and wondered if they were
worked very well. Did you negotiate a decent price for the service? I
heard they will cut the price some if you work with them.

I did it online, payed for a year, and had a discount from my
company's employee purchase price. I still pay more than I'd like for
radio, but I listen to it constantly, and having to listen to
terrestrial radio just bugs me. I'm too spoiled now... ;-)

I had the same issue on my 2005 Accord. I have XM's Roady 2 model, part
of which plugs into the cigarette lighter. So far, so good!

Years ago a bought the first-gen XM "Roadie" portable add-on radio
along with the remote controller for it, and have been using it
without an problems daily. You aften see these on motorcycles. The
installation is not as 'clean' as in in-dash unit, but given that the
price was only $40, I can live with an DC adapter plugged in to the
'cigarette lighter' and running a wire from the small external antenna
magnetically mounted on the trunk. And I can easily move it to another
car , or into the house and run it though my stereo FM radio.
