I didn't realise there was a light which indicated
the presence of idiots?!? Anyhew, the details
of how to turn it off are probably in that damned
    idiot owner's manual.

Remind the idiot owner that the car has an almost idiot proof manual.

    Thanks Al...

Unfortunately some moron stole the idiot owner's manual.

Fortunately, a kind soul kind give a straight response to my question.
Pressing the odometer reset button while starting does turn the light off.

Mine has one, but since the car was originally sold in Quebec, it's
printed in French. Can you read it to me?

A simple search of google groups would have given you the same
answer. Unfortunately it's now (marginally) more difficult to find
because of all the posts where people ask without first checking
their owner manual, the group FAQ or the archives first. These
are almost always greeted with the same response. Don't take it
    personally.

My '93 Accord came with both an English manual and a French manual.
