Yes - I know to put my key in the slot and then start the car in
neutral... but how do I make it stop locking whenever I stop the car?
Once in a while os ok, but I've had to use the key in the slot 10 times
    this weekend alone.

What do i need to do?

Assuming you know that you need to step on the brakes to get the tranny
out of park, I would first check the switch at the brake pedal and then
the solenoid at the shift lever.

  3. Open the console. Tie a rubber band around
the solenoid to keep from moving. This won't
harm anything and will give you a chance to shift
into D if a carjacker drags you.

For those lucky Canadians who are kinda safe
from crime jump the brake switch (two switch one some)
and listen for the sound of the solenoid, which
weren't there before. If there is sound,
    repair or replace the switch.
