    Greetings!

I have a 2000 Accord LX and I am thiking about doing a little bit of
an audio upgrade. First, I want to replace the front speakers.
Crutchfield website says I need 6-1/2" speakers. Can anyone confirm
that? Because the speakers in doors look kinda smaller to me.

Anyway, I have chosen Infinity 6002i as a replacement. But they are
$100 on their website. Ebay has these open box for under $50. With
shipping I should be able to get these for about $55, I think. But
there will not be any free goodies that Crutchfield throws in, namely:
wiring harness and install instructions. So my question is: does
anyone have a copy of the installation instructions from Crutchield
that they can share with me?

In fact, (and this idea came to me while typing this message) I am
going to ask Crutchfield if they will sell me just the instructions
(and harness) because, unless they charge me $45 for these, Ebay would
    still be cheaper.

The problem is, I want to look at the instructions to be able to
decide if I wanna do this at all. I don't think I can afford to pay
$80 installation to Circuit City. Because I plan on spending that
money on the rear speakers next month. :) I have identified Infinity
    6952i already.

Based on my research, I have come to the conclusion that rear speakers
replacement is easier. But I wanna do the front ones first because the
    payoff is bigger.

And finally, if I am not happy with the stock HU's performance with
the new speakers, then I would think about getting a new Alpine
replacement deck in Feb :) That installtion should be easy. I have
looked at the instructions for that at www.installdr.com.

Thanks and regards, and happy holidays.

PS: Do I need the grills that comes with these speakers or can I use
the factory grills over the new speakers? Because the factory grills
would hide the new speakers pretty well.

I just replaced all four of my Honda Accord speakers. Front ones are in the
door, like yours. While my Honda is a '92, it seems that every version of
Honda Accord I've looked at since 92 have been 6-1/2." 2000 Integra's are
    also 6-1/2."

As far as installation is concerned, no matter which speaker you've got, if
all you are doing is replacing the speaker, installation should be roughly
the same. I wouldn't worry about it. In fact if you want to private email
me, I'll scan in and send you the instructions for my recently replaced
Pioneer 6-1/2" speakers via return email.

Just email me at and just take out the nospam
    part of the domain name.

You shouldn't have to use any supplied grill covers if you don't want to.

    Good luck.

this is how to remove your orginal speakers

    http://www.carstereohelp.org/stereoremoval/Accord98_00FSpk.htm

as for wiring, well, easiest thing to do is cut off the factory connector,
there will be 2 wires, one positive and one negitive, positive is usually
idenified by a green stripe on the jacket on honda's, if you have a haynes
manual it will tell you for sure the color. after you figure out which is
which, solder to normal connector and plug in new speakers, screw them in
place and put everything back together

  4. Hey, me too!

    Front ones are in the
    Er...well, yeah. It's a 6-1/2" hole, but stock has a 5" or so, in a funky
ducted enclosure. Yank it out, and walla! A 6.5" speaker capable door.

    See above.

I just put Infinity 605CS in the front, and 692.5 in the back. A bit of
chopping in the back, but....um.....well, you'll be pleased.

I paid 5.24USD for the rears....they list locally for 329CDN.

    Pitch'em.

    Thanks Steve for your response.
SWEET! That answers the questions in my head. The factory speakers
    certainly don't look like 6-1/2".
605CS are Component speakers! So where do you put the littel tweaters?
Just curious. Did you have to drill holes in the doors for them?
Assuming that is $52.40, it seems awfully cheap! There is nowhere I am
going to get those (692.5 is Kappa series, I think) at this price. I
think I will stick with Reference 6952i.

    Thanks alot.

    Thanks for the link.
Is there a way to avoid cutting and soldering? Are there no harnesses?

    Thanks and regards,

  9. The little panel at the top of the door, I guess where the manual mirror
adjusters would be. Colour match is exact.

No mis-type. Five dollars, twenty four cents. The wrong pic was on the item,
and they didn't *think* they included the crossovers. Figured for that
price, I'll build crossovers. They were in the box!

    There is nowhere I am
