Is it okay to steam clean my engine, or does it have too many complex
electronics and sensors, that I should not bother?

I hose mine off with cold water from a garden hose. The connectors on the
electronics are moisture resistant. I don't think they can handle too much
    steam.

garden hose, if at all. don't stem. it ruins electricals and gets into
    the braking system.

Somebody pointed out that if forces soapy water into various bearing
seals and places that water isn't supposed to get into.

Changed my way of thinking about it (a bit).
