I'm having and odd problem with my 88 Civic DX. Every once in a while
the car will "stutter". For just a second or so the car will act like it
has lost fuel or ignition. This doesn't happen every time I drive. When
it does happen, I have usually just shifted into 5th gear heading onto the
freeway. This has never happened more than once during my 35 min drive to
work. Due to problems I've had with an erratic cold idle, rough idle and
this problem (among others), I have replaced the following components:
fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, idle air control valve, ignitor, coil,
plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, new gaskets and o-rings throughout
TBI, new oxygen sensor and new main relay. The only thing left I can
think of is the TPS??? Is this the right direction to go or should I be
    looking elsewhere?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

  2. It sounds kind of like an O2 sensor problem. It's pretty easy to test
it with a voltmeter. Look for a buffered O2 sensor diagnostics port.
The voltage there should flicker up and down several times a second when
the car is at a stable cruising RPM.
