Anybody ever install an aftermarket tachometer on a Civic DX?

How difficult is it to run the wires through the firewall? Where is a good
spot to tap into 12V power?

    Thanx.

On my '88, I simply removed the hood that covers the dashboard
and probed the 2 connectors looking for 12v, as for the rpm take-off
I just poked around until the tach responded. The light can
be taken off the dashlight dimmer.

How do you "simply" remove the dashboard hood?

We don't know what year your car is, but on mine ('88-'91),
4 screws and it's off. It's a 5 minute job and the back of the dash is
    exposed.

Perhaps someone with a Civic the same generation as yours can
help you. You could of course, get the "hot" points from under the
hood, a manual would help at this point.

    good luck.
