I have a '90 civic hatchback and the temp gauge jumps up and down when
either turn signal is on. Also, it goes all the way up when my high
beams are on. I was pretty sure this was a short somewhere, but it
only happens after the car has been driven for a few minutes.
Anyone else have this problem or have any input as to what is causing
    it?

    any help is appreciated

My guess is a corroded solder terminal on the PCB boards allowing
    current jumping to another.

Note: I*d tampered with the speedo and it did not work until I*d
franticly diagnose it to improper screw tension adjustment. Don*t
touch this area. A reminder: the whole unit costs around $500 US.

I am referring to the instrument gauge.
