  1. Thanx for all your help I do appreciate it. Now my Honda is doing some wierd
shyt~When I do run the a/c I listen to the engine like idle up and down like
when a pump is running or something~I DO always watch my temp guage just in
case~But another thing my car is doing is getting stuck in Park. When I park
the car and go into the house and come back out and start it~put my foot on
the brake to take it out of gear it acts like I dont have my foot on the
brake and doesn't budge out of park? So I have to turn the damn thing off and
stick my key in that "shift release slot" and pull it out of park in to
Nuetral and start it~~Oh wow I cant believe I might be having transmission
    problems~something I really cant afford :( I also noticed sometimes when I'm
driving the car will like wait to switch into 3rd or 4th depending on where
I'm driving but it only seems to do that once in awhile but I just dont want
my transmission to "drop" or just stop working all together~Thanx for any
    help you give :) ~~~~Wendi

I just fixed that problem the other day on my CR-V . . . It's can happen
to most models of Honda (sometimes gets worse in COLD weather). The
overall length of the shifter cable is set too short and here's a TSB
about a recall, but it shows how the adjustment is done. It's for Civic,
    but it's the same:

It took one minutes to adjust it, since I had the lower cover off my
steering column. Yours might be in the console, depending on which model
    we're talking about.

My wife's 2003 Odyssey had the same problem on shifting out of park. Check
the brake light switch for the reason your car won't shift out of park. The
switch activates your brake light when you press your brake but on our
Odyssey it also keeps you from shifting out of park if it doesn't make the
correct contact. If you have the same type of switch try cleaning it with a
small brush as dust can mess it up. On ours you can remove the switch
easily if it does need to be replaced but once cleaned it shifted out of
    park.

My wife had the problem while I was at work so I had to diagnose it over the
phone. Before I told my wife to clean it I had her call the dealer to get a
new part under warranty and I would pick it up on the way home. They said
she had to bring it in and they would install it. How do you get a car to
the dealer when you can't put it in reverse to get it out of the
    garage??????
