There's a cat in my steering wheel - '90 Accord

Ok, not litterally, but it sounds like it.

When I turn the steering wheel while driving, intermittantly it gives
a "meowing"/groaning sound. Happens when turning right or left.

Also, I get a clunking noise and can feel it in my steering wheel when
I go up a driveway curb. Usually only happens when I go on unevenly
(one wheel at a time) not straight on and happens when the rear wheels
    go up over the curb.

    Wondering what this might be?
    Any/All help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jeff

  2. I have the meowing also. I believe it's a rubber bushing on the steering
control shaft as it passes through the firewall, but it's never annoyed me
enough to hit it with silicone lube to confirm.

The clunk, however, you should be concerned with. If you have a tie rod end
that's failing, this clunk is the only warning you're going to get before
your wheel tucks itself under the car on a corner. Crawl under and find the
loose joint, or else I would have your local service place find what's
    wearing out.

    Good luck,
    Arthur
