    Hello,
I've got Gooyear Touring and Viva tires on my accord at this
time. I had one bad skid in the rain several months back and
at highway speeds notice some vibration.

I did have the tires balanced since then.

I'm considering getting new tires on the front. The winter weather
is upon us which means occasional sleet/rain here in north GA.

What replacement tires do you recommend that would give
me good handling under wet conditions as well as good handling
    at highway speeds?

I've gotten suggestions on yokohama, bridgestone, michelins.

    THANKS!

I have Michelin X-one and they work very well in rain and snow. Ice -
well only studded make a difference in that stuff. Have had very good
reports on the Bridgestone Potenza. Go to www.tirerack.com for their
    suggestions.

A tire to avoid is the Michelin MXV4 - one of the worst tires I have
driven on in wet weather - when the tread looses traction - it is like
you hit ice - somebody who knew a lot about tread design said this
happens cause the engineers designed this tire for mileage - a lot of
manufacturer's - saw them on new Mercedes - use them to get up their
fleet mileage numbers. Avoid this tire - some have no problems with it
    - depends upon how you drive - if you push it at all -BFN. Also the
MXV4 absolutely howls when cornered hard on dry pavement.

Many years ago lived in Atlanta - had an ice storm - had an 80 accord
then - driving on the backroads from downtown - lots of gals just left
their cars on the sides of the road and were walking home in heels and
thin jackets - at one time had 9 people in my accord - took 6 hours to
make it home. Yes when ice hits N GA - times get tough.

  3. Sounds almost exactly like the Uniroyal TigerPaw AWP's I had on my Accord a
few years ago. I drove just 10,000km (6200 miles) before I ditched them.
