I have just bought my first honda (after being a Ford guy for
decades), a 99 Honda Civic EX with stock 14 inch steel wheels. The
tires on the front are P17565R14s and the rear tires are P18565R14s.
I have ordered the OEM honda 15 inch 15 spoke alloy wheels and I am
trying to decide what size tires to use. The honda site shows a
P19560R15 on the new Si with the 15 inch wheel. I am not looking for
a dazzling performance just some thing decent. How about this size on
    a 99 EX?

    Thanks, Norm

  2. They should be fine. I'm a bit confused as to why there are currently
smaller width tires on the front than the rear.

I think the original owner(s) replaced the tires in pairs and for some
reason got different brands and sizes.

One of the four 15 inch wheels showed up today (just one of the four, don't
you love UPS). Very nice wheel. The inside width is 6 inches. The sticker
that came with the wheel shows a size of 185/65R15 instead of the 195/60R15
that I am looking at. I guess my options would be 195/55R15, 185/65R15,
and 195/60R15. The 195/55R15 shows a near match to the 14 but they are
significantly more expensive than the 195/60R15s.

www.tirerack.com shows 195/55/15 as the correct size for a '99 Civic EX.

185/60/15 should work for you as well - within 1.2% error from the original
    size of 185/65/14.

    Cheers,

    Pete

195-55R15 is the standard size from the Si model.
