Any advice on what to look for? I have one quote with instalation and parts
    for $340.
This hitch will be used for towing a pop-up camper but eventually will be
used for pulling a boat in the next two years.
What to look for, what to look out for?

Might I suggest you checking out the price for this hitch at your local
U-Haul dealer? Here, they offer a lifetime warranty on any hitches that they
    install.

  3. Honda has been having transmission problems. They are replacing a lot
of transmissions. They are spending a blue ton of money on this.

Word on the street has it that while at one time they looked away when
they saw tranny problems on vehicles that are equipped to tow, that is
    no longer the case.

So, if you want to stay on the straight and narrow with respect to any
future transmission troubles, do it the Honda way: buy their kit, have
them install it (all of it, including the transmission and power
steering coolers), and follow their specifications for maximum tongue
    weight and load.

If you do it any other way, you risk taking any future transmission
problems on by yourself. Do it Honda's way, and you get leniency.

I won't recommend any serious towing ( More than Class I) because on
their weak transmissions . However for light towing ( Class I), look
at aftermarket hitch ( Hidden Hitch or www.curtmfg.com both have
easy to install bolt-on hitches for the Odysessy ) and a stacked
plate transmission fluid cooler which has much greater cooling
    capacity than the Honda add-on model ( ww.bulkpart.com ) . You could
add a smaller stacked plate fluid cooler too for PS fluid . There
are theads on this subject at the forums at www.odyclub.com .

I got a Reese class 3 hitch for my Pilot for about $100 from Wal-Mart and
    installed it myself.

Did you also intall the tranny and PS coolers? Looking through the oddy
manual it has these items as a must for towing. I know the oddy and pilot
use the same auto tranny so I'd assume that is the case for the pilot.
