    1) Is there a substitute for Honda trans fluid?

    2) Check the trans fluid when it is hot or cold?

  2. Is this auto-trans? I'm sure there are some that claim to be compatible
but why take the chance of ending up with a balky transmission? The Honda
auto-trans is a unique design and does not use a planetary gear system like
other makes - it's more like a twinshaft manual design with individual
    clutch packs to engage/disengage gears.
The Honda manuals I have say to check it hot, within a minute or so of
    turning the engine off.
