I need some help. I bought an engine from a junk yard and it ended up
    being a 1986 D16A1 . I have a 1990 honda civic dx hatchback that I
would like to put that D16A1 into but I understand that it may take
custom engine mounts. I also understand that I will need a custom
clutch. Will my transmission bolt up to that engine atleast?
Someone please tell me what it takes. HELP !

take that motor back to the junk yard and get the correct one - that one
will not be smog legal. you can only use an engine of the same series
as original [d15b2] or later, /not/ earlier. if you want a d16, you
    need d16a6 or later.
