Tricks for removing hub/spindle nut? '93 Accord

I am trying to swap out my passenger side cv axle on my '93 Accord. I
had previously done this successfully on an '87 Civic, so I thought I
    might have a shot.

So far, I have broken my 1/2" breaker bar, and the hub/spindle nut
(I'm not sure of the correct name) hasn't budged (a pipe extension was
used to assist me in breaking the breaker bar). I have a 1/2" 36 mm
socket, which seems to be the right size. I was thinking of stepping
up to a 3/4" breaker bar, and a 3/4" to 1/2" reducing socket adaptor.
Is this a step in the right direction or am I destined for more broken
wrenches? (I don't have access to an impact wrench).

Any tricks I should try? Penetrating oil? Heat? It does appear
    somewhat rusty.

Thanks very much for any suggestions !!

Well...an impact gun IS the answer, but if not...

Get your 3/4" breaker bar, and appropriate sized socket...do not use any
adaptors. Find a pipe that will fit over the handle of the breaker bar for
    better leverage.

Now soak the nut in penetrating fluid, and let stand a while. Now moderately
heat the nut with a propane torch. Don't over due it...you want the nut to
be hotter that the threaded shaft, but you don't want to damage any seals.

Spray more penetrate on it...this will "suck" the fluid in, and immediately
    loosen.

    Good luck.

    JAS,

If it's the kind of nut that's been whacked with a chisel to lock it in
place at the groove, have you smacked it OUTWARD to undo the dent?

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried the heat, the penetrating oil, and
jumping on the (new) breaker bar. Finally it went.
