Ugliest auto ever?

It didn't have a 440. That engine did not exist back then. "440" was just a
number the marketing people thought would sound cool for the top-line Dart.

Depends on point of view. And your age. I thought the 60/ 61/62 chev
impala and supersport models were great looking cars. And wasn't the
first Mustang like a 64-1/2 model. 64 Plymouth Fury wasn't bad
    either.

    I certainly wouldn't mind owning a late 60's dart. Or a '69 Plymouth
Valiant.... Rich Ehrenberg had one that he hopped up a little bit and it
was outrunning Porshes and Corvettes in the One Lap Of America a few years
back. It's a good solid car, strong body but light in weight, decent
suspension, and not that bad to look at.

What strikes me about that ad is that the car is parked on a nice grassy
field next to a barn. That sort of thing was commonplace when I was a
little kid. You don't see too many new cars parked in grassy fields
    anymore........... :(

  5. Ugly and stupid. Good call, but has anyone ever actually seen one of
    these?
Not quite as ugly and not quite as stupid as a Blackwood. (God, even
    that name is stupid.)
I have a '92 240 Wagon. More utilitarian and more ugly than an
    Element.

  6. Has anyone mentioned those big slab-sided Chevy (I think) Luminas?

    (Arthur Shapiro) melodiously murmured in
You mean the Lumina APV? Slab sides, dustbuster nose, square wheel wells?
Yep. That one gets my vote for one of the ugliest of all time!

Honda Prelude, most recent edition. Sorry but those headlights just don't
do it for me. And the rest of the car (appearance-wise) isn't much better.

Then I'm glad you didn't buy a fifth gen Lude. I like mine (mechanically
and appearance wise) just as much as my ex '84 and '90 Preludes. AND, its
alot nicer without the popup headlights - although the '84 was hinged such
that the housing barely disturbed the sightline over the hood when raised.

  16. I agree with that. My new nomination for Ugliest car of all times is
the new Mitsubishi Montero. What were they thinking with those front
    fenders?

    I'll second that.
I think I know where GM is getting their Pontiac stylists.
