Years ago when Renault was advertising "Le Car" heavily, someone in my
neighborhood who actually had a Renault painted "Le Piece of Shit" on
    each door.
Is that the model that used to sink on its suspension until you started
the engine, then it would raise up for the road?

Or the four-door version, dubbed the Wego.

and probably the worst of the worst: Citroen CV
It is called the 2CV and it stands for 2 horse power in French. The car
did not really have a 2 bhp engine, but car taxes in France were (are?)
based on taxable horses, which were calculated by some obscure formula
with little correlation to actual power.

The car had a conventional suspension and did not sink while parked.
Citroëns with hydro-pneumatic suspension do sink when left alone.

You can see a picture of the 2CV here:

Have you ever been in a Megane, it's a technological marvel, and they aren't
far off from the old civic hatch backs for looks, the hatchback model that
    is.

I have been in the original Megane, and it is a nice looking car. Hardly
a technological marvel, though. I was referring to Megane II, and the
hatchback variety of that car is uuuuglyyy. See

I was in the megane II hatchback in Gulf City mall in Trinidad 2 weeks ago.
I was impressed by the technology that was used in such an inexpensive car,
not to say it was a work of art or anything.

Sort of like the British system up to about 1945. The old British system
taxed cars based on piston diameter.

Similar to certain Lincoln models from around 1985-1995. But once the
engine has been started, the suspension pumps up fairly quickly.

  9. I thought it referred to the fact that the engine had two cylinders.

No, CV is short for "Chavaux", French for horses. The car did have a
    two-cylinder engine, however.

The 2CV was a really small car, IIRC it looked like a Quonset hut. The
one with the adjustable suspension was a much more expensive model.

No, that was the luxury sedan of those times. Air suspension..., which
BTW it was excellent. Can't remember it's model name.
The CV and 2CV was the daddy of "Le Car". It had those headlights
mounted on top of fenders. The car appeared in most of Louis des Funes
movies (I guess because of its funny look).
    You can see it at:

  14. I vote for the Simca 1000 sedan (rear engine, rear wheel drive), which my
    parents once owned. Unreliable too.

The 1000 was no beauty, but don't you think the 1100 was even uglier?

The Element, hands down. It makes all others, like the Aztek,
Matrix and Focus, look like beauty pageant winners. ;)

[sigh] Why are you such an idiot Mikey?

You already replied to this thread with the exact same response...do you
really think we are soooo stupid that we wouldn't see this as just another
feeble attempt to bash a Honda?

    Well...we did see it...

While I find your...er...um..."conduct" here very amusing most of the time,
its times like this I truly feel sorry for you because even you are blind to
the obvious, and have no idea how pathetic you really are.

    [sigh] Oh well...

I have to agree, the element is nasty. I think it's one of honda's ugliest
    designs.
